What do people use roto-tillers and other mechanized tillers for?

Question: This is a seriously fun because I do not really know. If I want to dig an area of my yard, I use a hoe or shovel. I even filled clay dirt that can get pretty hard, but it's just a little sweat, so I do not mind.

Answer: I must agree with Linda H tiller can do more harm than good. They are fast, but they never dig engaged enough to resolve problems with clay soils. Since your not worried about hard work without consequence, you should Google "double digging".
