Despatch - When Philip Smith built a new home last year in rural Roane County, the construction budget didn't cede to him to include a basement, a garage, a dedicated workshop, or even a "man give way" where he could store his fishing gear.

This was a problem.

Smith's recreation is building split-bamboo fishing rods, some of which he keeps and some of which he sells. At his prior home near Sissonville, he had a two-car garage in which to ply his part-time trade. Even before working to the new location, he realized he'd need additional space.

So he bought it.

He purchased a prefabricated insensitive garden shed, had it delivered to his new backyard, and set about transforming it into a workshop that looks like a den, or a den that includes a workshop. Take your realm of possibilities.
